The Yamada Bath House and Pool Hall, formerly located at the corner of 6th and Jackson Streets, was one of the establishments (along with boarding houses and gambling establishments) that supported the early Japanese bachelor society.
"A bath was 15 cents, but ticket books were sold for 10 baths for a dollar. Bath hours were from 6 to 11 p.m. As time passed and the proprietors, the Minato Family grew, the bathhouse operations gradually reduced. Bath use was limited to special occasions and groups."
